Canada, My Home

Thank the Lord that I have this wonderful country to call home (other than the Liberal government...)! 149 years this country has stood. Oh may it ever stay near You, Lord. May its people remember that this country was founded on Your word, and that You brought the many freedoms that we enjoy and cherish. May we never take this country for granted. Thank you, Lord.

Don't let that delicious-looking (key word is "looking") sundae fool you! The husband-to-be (tomorrow!) is a great prankster and as a cook, was able to produce a concoction of napkins, ketchup, Swiss Chalet sauce, and a lemon slice (and a Canada flag as a tribute to the birthday of our country) to fool his subjects. (Please don't ask if I tried it.)

Enjoying the morning sun.

A "groomless" (at the moment) rehearsal.

Fort McMurray, Alberta

Everyone has heard about this massive fire, I am sure. It is about as big as Toronto, give or take a few kilometres/metres/feet/inches. When I hear or read about this inferno, I always think of God's judgement on Sodom and Gomorrha.
Despite the public's opinion that nothing can be done to stop it, I believe that God is in control and, if it is His will, the wildfire will be stopped. If you know the story, the people of Sodom and Gomorrha were so wicked that God rained fire and brimstone down on them and their city. Only Lot and his wife and children escaped, though Lot's wife turned her head back and was immediately turned into a pillar of salt.
The amazing thing about this fire is that no lives, as of yet, have been lost. This could be about to change, however, as a number of people are trapped in the mountains with the only way out being through the fire. I wonder if they are saved, spiritually. Perhaps - which is what I think - God is wishing that the people who face this giant will think of the end times and repent.
This is a time to pray: pray that the people of the city and beyond may find God's grace and forgiveness, if they haven't already; pray that God may send the necessary rain to stop the fire if it is His will; and pray that no lives be lost if it is His will, as well.
Also, don't go back for or stay with your pets! God has given animals wonderful instincts, and they can survive things that humans cannot. Pets are not humans; they don't have souls. It is not so important that they survive.

Delightful Day.

Today some of us took part in the final concert of the Festival. Everyone of our family who participated in the Festival also had a share in the scholarship awarded to the whole family.  After that, we had a delightful rest of the day with our grandparents. It was such a lovely day with mild air and bright sunshine, but unfortunately, I was writing my last big "report" before school ends, and I couldn't enjoy the weather.

This was from yesterday.

Sorry for the interruption here. I sometimes can't get blogger to work that well.
Black-and-white of former colour photo.

Friday as a sunny, spring day! (and I was at home the whole day, because my classes that ran that day were already finished)

Today's evening.

She doesn't like anything spicy, but she loves cinnamon hearts. :)

Such a beautiful day!

Next week I head into exams. I hope and pray that I will be able to pass with relatively good marks.

Back in Time

Overnight, an ice storm hit.
We woke up to no power,
No school (!!!!) for me,
And a freezing-cold house.
The electricity was off for 10 hours, altogether.

Cooking eggs in a cast-iron skillet (please ignore the tin foil - we couldn't rinse anything without water) on a wood stove.

Beaded Bush

Doesn't the ice make a beautiful landscape?

Colours of Early Spring

          Shades of Brown

I have been wanting to post for a bit, but I got busy. Just on Thursday, my phone flew out of my pocket while I was running and it broke. It is very likely that I have lost everything that was on there, so I probably won't have many pictures for a while. I still have a small camera, but it doesn't take memory cards anymore; therefore there is only room for maybe 9 pictures. We'll see how everything goes...

The Arrival of the Syrian Refugees...

So what do we do now?

Well, they are all here; the best we can do is hope and pray that there are no deceivers in the bunch who wish to take advantage of our country. Apparently, they are all Christians; hopefully, that is true.

Canada is a free and diverse country whose original inhabitants were the Natives; however, it was founded on Christian principles and those who come to our country must remember that they have to abide by those principles (mind you, the Liberals have taken away much of these "discriminatory" regulations and replaced them with barbaric infanticide and murder).

Suspense

I am sorry I haven't posted anything recently. It is been busy: last week was full of assignments due at the same time, and this week has been "testing week." On top of all that, there are only 3/4 weeks left of the semester after this. ...

Waiting for the testing to begin.

New Prime Minister

The day I was hoping would never happen. I don't know why I took this election so hard; I guess I was expecting more from our people in favour of Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Few Liberals have done good to our country. I don't expect anything from them now. Likely, people won't realize their mistake until too late.

*not my picture (from CBC).

Oh well, we shall take each day as it comes and hope that Justin Trudeau will take his job and swearing-in over the Bible very seriously and bring good to our country (not the bad that he has promised). If that is not the case, I hope and pray that God will bring a Godly government back.

Election Results

Well, I was quite disappointed in the election result. I was thinking, at the very most, that Justin Trudeau would get a minority vote. What good have the Liberals done to our country? So far, not much. In fact, Stephen Harper was the best Prime Minister Canada has ever had. In this post, I hope to engage everyone in some critical thinking:
  1. No matter what a leader promises, there are often more pressing issues at hand than the ones they have promised, so it may take a little longer - or not at all - to deal with lesser problems.
  2. Many political parties, even the most scrupulous ones, can promise anything to be elected. It doesn't mean they are "the one" to rule the country.
  3. Noone should tell the government how to govern if they have not been in the seat themselves. For all you know, the government may be dealing with a highly secret discovery that will threaten the country ( I know that example is a little extreme, but how does anyone know?)
  4. People who did not vote have no right to complain.
  5. What did Stephen Harper do to have a sudden cause for complaint?!
Look at the Liberals, who want to legalize marijuana and brothels. I understand the purpose for legalizing brothels, but, as a Christian, I am still very strongly against it. Marijuana, even if it would be for extreme medical cases only (which I am very sure is not the case) it would probably get into the hands of the wrong people; besides, what type of governor would want to bring its citizens to harm?

*I was not very happy with the federal election results; however, it makes me even more thankful to be in the riding where the Conservatives have still prevailed and the riding of my church has, once again, been elected Conservative.*
