We Couldn't Deny Him His Longing

We were asked to play for the funeral, so we went the night before to practice.

The steeple - the gorgeous, deep tones of the funeral bell ...

Over a hundred years ago, they made absolutely beautiful churches.

My favourite stained-glass window.

"...Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 19:14

Ribbon reads, "Erlösung ist Gnade," which translated means, "Freedom is grace."

A Nice Start to October

Little niece

"Just a little smile for auntie...."

Be gentle.

Panorama to get the whole cloud growth on there.

A little sideroad near our home.
All nature speaks of its Creator.

Isn't this tree (or double-tree) just the prettiest gem ever?
Four colours; red, orange, yellow, green.

White-washed tree.

This section - on the corner of our road and the sideroad - used to have a historical marker which said (I can't remember exactly), "Peel Presbyterian(?) Church."

"Look, I got lots of flowers!"
Then my mother was worried and asked where they were from.
"From the flowerbed."
Then mom was super worried that she would have ripped out all these big flower plants, until she saw how little those flowers were.

We each got one, and they smelled pretty nice for flowers.
(aren't those green eyes just the prettiest things?!)

And there was a bit of a fog hanging around this morning when I left for school.

The sun did come out later.

Evening sunset.
Shark attack!!!!!!!!!!!
(Can you see those sharky snouts and that dorsal fin?)

September 18 - 19, 2016

Saturday
(An extra picture)
My grandmother, father, and uncle faced a very difficult decision. My grandfather had suffered a heart attack, and then a  stroke, and the decision had to be made whether to keep him alive with quality of life compromised or to make him comfortable until he went home. We didn't want to deny him his longing, and he passed away on September 18, 2016.

Sunday
Concord grapes - few and far between.

The chestnuts are growing (oh, the joys of playing with them!)

I found that the true colour of the sunset that was shining through the trees only manifested itself when I was moving the phone camera.

The beautiful "decorations" on the chestnut.

Monday
Early morning fog.

The moon was still out.

Found this little guy as I was going to school.
He was crawling along - not a care in the world.
