Christmas

Jesus Christ is born!

We had a very eventful Christmas this year. We had 2 ice storms last, last Friday and Saturday, which led to a power outage. It only lasted one day for us, but we were unable to go to church on Sunday and also canceled the Christmas Program, because the church had no power. On Christmas Eve, we were unable to go to our grandparent's house, since they had no power (it actually went on that evening). On Christmas, we finally were able to go to church, and the Christmas Program was planned for second Christmas Day. Unfortunately for me, I became sick and couldn't participate. What a disappointment! But the program went on and went well, too, from what I heard. The ice storm did leave a beautiful landscape. :)

Advent

Well, it is the beginning of the church year again, and we are thinking, once again, of the 2nd coming of Jesus - that we must be ready and let Him enter into our hearts.

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

But of the day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Watch, therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Therefore, be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 24:27, 36, 42, 44
I am sorry that I have no pictures to put on (except from Ottawa). It tends to be a bit difficult putting them on the computer, sometimes.

Remembrance Day.

How could I have forgotten this day?! My great-grandfather fought as a German in World War II, and, though he was missing in action, my great-grandmother(Omi-Omi, we called her) told us; her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; many, many stories of how they survived( many are more miracles than anything else). I know that God was truly watching over them. Unfortunately, my grandfather was very young and unable to tell me much.

Reformation Day.

We are at Reformation Day, and, as its name suggests, it was the day that started reform in the Catholic Church and its hold that it had on the people. Martin Luther, on October 31, 1517 wrote the 95 Thesis to "protest" some of the false practices that the church had. We celebrate it as a day that brought on the purifying of the church and the truth of the Bible.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I couldn't get a better picture-my camera ran out of battery, unfortunately.

There are so many things to be thankful for;
-A house of worship where the Word is taught in truth and purity
-A Christian home and family
-Food for body and soul
-Clothing
-A house to live in
etc. etc.

Every good and perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of Lights...
James 1:16-18

2013 Harvest Festival

Saturday, we went to the festival as vendors. It was fun! A whole lot better than being the buyers, I think. Anyway, I'll post some pictures later on..., though I do not have very many. Customers always come first!

Here are some pictures.

Fresh home-baking.

 Aren't these cute?

 Homegrown produce(of course).

 Clean-up.

A happy end to the day.

Goderich.

We went to the beach after getting our schoolbooks. It was fun and the port was beautiful!

Big freighter ships being filled.

Chasing seagulls-always a favourite with the boys, of course.

They all landed on the water.

The playground was very creative and fun!

Water is always a favourite.

Time Flies!

Almost September and soon the bus will be going down our road, again. Some of my sisters have already started school. The time seems to have flown by so fast(for me, anyway.)

Catching Up.

So, I haven't had much internet access for a while. I will just catch up a little. Since a "picture is worth 1000 words," it will have mostly pictures.
Random pictures.

I found this interesting flower while visiting the horses-I wonder what it is.

My little brother said he was making cookies....
 Agricultural photos.

That's not all of the pictures. I would never be able to post them all, but these are some of the nicer ones. :)
