Day of St. Michael and All Angels.

The sermon on Sunday gave me an inspiring note for myself: "Shouldn't the angels be happy when one sinner comes to God?" It really caught my attention, because I would likely find it difficult to forgive someone who came back to God (I almost feel like they would be betraying ME). But we should all really be happy if that happens; it is really God's call whether HE should forgive, because it is all about Him.

"Random Acts of Kindness"

The group overtook us, today, as we were on our way home. :) They gave up the rest of their flowers, plus a loonie! Apparently, it was also for a scavenger hunt.

Mountie Open House

Little did we know there was a mountie detachment in Kitchener! Well, they had a 60th anniversary open house and it was short (which I liked) and, because we came so late, devoid of people.
This was the back of a heavily armoured vehicle.
They use it for anything, including visiting people who have
weapons or a history of violence.
There is one vehicle per province-these cover all of Ontario.

An 8-wheeler "ATV."

That table there and the little robot on the left of the picture
are for bomb threats and/or real ones.
The robot is the first to go into the situation; it has five
cameras, and a "grabber" to hold different tools.
On the table is the bomb gear that must be worn if they
have to go in the area themselves; the whole suit, including
the helmet weighs 80 pounds, and if you add extra "haz-mat"
suits, it weighs 14 pounds more. The suit has controls for
airconditioning and communication.
There was also a water "tube" (it looks like a mini telescope
on a tripod) which shoots out water so fast that it is like a
solid rod, and I think it is used to detonate the bomb. The
water also will stop any fire hazards.

A holding cell. The maximum amount of time they are allowed
to keep prisoners in there is 24 hours. Solid steel doors.

This mountie was impressed that my little brother
looked "just like her dad." :)

Hope this is interesting for everyone, though it is a lot nicer if you see and hear it yourself.

Look What We Found.

It must have been lost, because we found it in our house.

It is a painted lady butterfly.

Up Before the Sun.

Before I left for volunteer.

"Num-Num?"
(At least she knows what the dishwasher is for [num-num is her word for food].)

He built a bridge-and was especially excited about the sign.

Who Would've Thought!

That such a little stone (we think) could do so much damage (though it was hurled from the mower, but still...).

Labour Day. ...

Labour Day has two meanings for me: Hannah, my first niece was born on this day, last year.
For the other meaning, I had to look on Wikipedia
(yes, I know it is not a reliable resource, but I still like it.:) .

(Not the greatest picture, but it is of my pretty and hard-working sister.)
