Important Date :)

Happy
   Birthday
Mami!      People always comment on how young she looks.

We ended up going to Port Credit Marina, as it was too late to go to a marsh, as planned.

And yesterday was my piano teacher's birthday:

Happy
  Birthday!

Worldpride Day

Yesterday was Worldpride Day, and for those who don't know what it is about, it is basically a "homosexual day of pride." As for me,  it is a sin and should be quenched whenever it comes up. However, those who are converted Christians may find it hard to convert their former tendencies, and should have as much support as possible to overcome.
The Bible says: "Because, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were they thankful,... They changed the glory of an incorruptible God into an image made like to a corruptible man.... Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator,... For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind...." (Romans 1: 21, 23, 25 - 28 [King James Version])

Treasures in Heaven.

The Bible verse at the top of my blog says to lay up treasures in heaven, not on earth.
Treasures on earth include things like money, jewels, cars, houses, anything that will pass away when Judgement Day comes. Laying up treasures on earth won't help you any when that day comes and God will have to judge you.
Laying up treasures in heaven could be things like being kind, gentle, loving, helpful to and doing good deeds for everyone out of love to God and so, adding treasures in the book of life.

Baptism

Until today, I had never really thought about how many people practice adult or "older child" baptism. I don't think that it is a good practice, though.
My church baptizes young children/ infants with good reason: Whoever "shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone be hanged about his neck and he be drowned in the depths of the sea." (Matthew 18:6 - King James version)     To offend the child would be to think that he couldn't believe and/or not baptize him/her.
The Kingdom of God belongs to the children and "forbid them not," (Mark 10:14 - King James) because they have a simple faith and believe without questioning.  Forbidding them would be to hold off baptizing or keep them from going to church, etc.
"Out of the mouth of babes ... thou hast perfected praise." (Matthew 21:16 - King James Bible).
"I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them unto babes." (Matthew 11:25)

Trinity and Father's Day

     Trinity Sunday is very important.
  • Father: He is a father to us, but is God as well.
  • Son: He is the son of God, but is still God - He only made Himself into a form of a human so He could die for us on the cross.
  • Holy Spirit: He is a spirit that lives in our hearts today, but is still God and will judge us.
Also, yesterday was Father's Day:
I regret that I did not mention anything about Mother's Day (my mother works very hard, as she often does most of the housework, while we study, do schoolwork, go to work, etc.), but my father is the chief monetary earner for the younger children, as well as working hard on Saturdays, at home (cleaning the garage, burning all the paper, dog pens, things like that). Yes, I appreciate my parents alot and often take them for granted, unfortunately.

Essays.

On Wednesday, when my mom was gone, I took the liberty of telling the kids to write an essay of the deer (later there were more) on our lawn, because they didn't seem to be doing anything else, anyway. I had quite the surprise when I read some of them, later!
The Deer on Our Front Lawn
By Elisabeth
Elisabeth was on the black (it's actually brown) couch in the library, when suddenly, someone called out, "There's a deer on our front lawn!"  "A deer!" Elisabeth tumbled off the couch, "Where, where is the deer?"
Nobody answered, for they were too busy shouting and looking at the deer. "Where is the deer?" she said, louder this time, going to the stairs. Leah, her sister, finally said, excitedly, "On the front lawn!"
She went to the window and looked, but we (Leah and Elisabeth) couldn't see anything until Elisabeth stood up on the windowsill and said, " There! I see it!"
Leah and Nathaniel saw the deer, then it went across the road, into the woods beyond, and it was ... ... ... ... ... ...

Gone!
(Slightly edited; grammar....)
Essay
by Leah
We saw some deer on our lawn today. At first it was quiet, then Daniel shouted, "A deer is on our front lawn!" At first I thought he said, " A snake is on our lawn!" The colour was brown. It had antlers.
It was near - propius (Latin word [She was learning some Latin words in her school work]) - our driveway. The deer was standing there; it had a long tail, I think ( No, they don't :).
(Later[evidently, she was still writing her essay when the next bunch came]) Then two more came. The male ran toward the train tracks; the female ran across the road to the forest where the Mexican Mennonites (former neighbours across the road from us) used to live.
We saw the male jumping. The female almost got hit by a car.
I wish I could get one and keep it as a pet. (Slightly edited; spelling, grammar, etc.)
The Deer
by Nathaniel
It was on-a front lawn and the driveway, then it ran on the neighbour's property. The deer was white and ---  white and --- what is it? (It was reddish-brownish, I said) It was reddish and brownish.
It was running (a) little bit fast, and it doesn't has (have) a long tail - it was little-bit long.
The deer was going in the forest; no, it wasn't eating grass. (I wrote this for him-he just dictated it to me.)

Today, ...

     I voted.
Yes, it was my first time voting and I was excited about it, but I also feel that it is my duty to vote, so that I do not take my government for granted. I have read several blogs that have at least one good post about the right (privelege?) to vote. ...
Anyway, I voted Progressive Conservative or Conservative, but much to my chagrin, I just heard that the Liberals won. :( I don't think that they have really done any good at all in the past from what I all heard. Well, at least it is only a provincial election. The Prime Minister is doing good so far. ...

Pentecost

Sunday was Pentecost; the disciples were gathered in a room, and there was a sound "as of a mighty rushing wind and cloven tongues" appeared on each head that was present and they "were filled with the Holy Ghost" and began to speak in tongues (that is, they began to speak in other languages so that all people could understand). And all the people were amazed that the disciples could speak in all their languages. We celebrated in for 3 days, as it is one of the "big" or important church holidays. And if you are wondering why I am up so early, :) I have recently been going to the local hospital to volunteer there once a week for 3 hours.

Happy Birthday! (Another One:)

She loves to jump and pretend to be a horse, so we made
an obstacle course out of pool noodles!

Elisabeth. A decade, and it seems like she is supposed to be so much younger!

Das Zweite Hauptstück, Der Glaube

Der 1. Artikel
Amen.

The Second Part, The Creed

The 1st Article
Of Creation
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
What does this mean?
I believe that God has made me and all creatures; that He has given me my body and soul, eyes, ears, and all my members, my reason and all my senses, and still preserves them; also clothing and shoes, meat and drink, house and home, wife and children, fields, cattle, and all my goods; that He richly and dailyprovides me with all  that I need to support this body and life; that He defends me against all danger and guards and protects me from all evil; and all this purely out of fatherly, divine goodness and mercy, without any merit or worthiness in my; for all which it is my duty to thank and praise, to serve and obey Him. This is most certainly true.
The 2nd Article
Of Redemption
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
What does this mean?
I believe that Jesus Christ, true God, begotten of the Father from eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary, is my Lord, who has redeemed me, a lost and condemned creature, purchased and won me from all sins, from death, and from the power of the devil; not with gold or silver, but with His holy, precious blood and with His innocent suffering and death, that I may be His own and live under Him in His kingdom, and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness, even as He is risen from the dead, lives and reigns to all eternity. This is most certainly true.
The 3rd Article
Of Sanctification
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen
What does this mean?
I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Ghost has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith; even as He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian Church on earth and keeps it with Hesus Christ in the one true faith; in which Christian Church He daily and richly forgives all sins to me and all believers, and will at the Last Day raise up me and all the dead, and give unto me and all believers in Christ eternal life. This is most certainly true.
